Chocolate cake is a common dessert cake served at many gatherings such as birthday parties and weddings. There are many different types of chocolate cake depending on the alteration of the ingredients and chocolate flavouring. Healthy cake recipes mean that you can eat smart and still enjoy cakes. Eating cakes as part of a healthy diet isn’t a problem. Make your own cakes, and you know exactly what’s in them. Most times, low-fat or low-sugar cake recipes taste bad! And too many times the cook over bakes the dish and it taste dryer and just as tasteless! The taste and texture of a cake you’ve made yourself will be far superior to anything you can buy at the supermarket. It’s satisfying to do, and it really doesn’t take very long. You can also double-up the quantities, and make two cakes, freezing one to use in the future. This is my family’s favourite Chocolate Cake. I get this recipe from my aunty and she thought me how to make a very simple cake.
You only need 7 ingredients to make this chocolate cake. The ingredients are;
185g butter, 6 eggs, 50g cocoa powder, 200g flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 300g sugar, and 2 teaspoons Vanilla essence.
Firstly, preheat oven to 200 deg. After that, we can starts doing the cake with mix the sugar and the butter in the large bowl by using an electric mixer until mixture is smooth and the colour changed to white. Increase speed to medium, beat about 3 minutes. Then, sieve the flour with the baking powder. When the sugar and butter expand, include the eggs in the same bowl one by one until it mixture and add the cocoa powder inside the bowl and continue beat. When the mixture changed to brown colour, add the flour and vanilla essence. Beat about 2 minutes. When it’s done, spread into prepared pan. Bake in moderate oven about 1 hour. When the cake is ready, stand 5-10 minutes then turn onto wire rack to cool. Spread with chocolate icing if you want too and the cake is ready to be served.
It is a very simple and easier cake to be done. The preparation time of doing this cake is about 30 minutes or sometimes, it less than that. And the cooking time takes about 1 hour. Here is also a tips on how to test if a cake is cooked. When the cake is done, touch top of cake with fingers if it’s firm or test using skewer in the thickest part of the cake but not through a crack. If the skewer comes out free from any cake mixture, remove cake from oven. If cake mixture does appear on the skewer, test cake again after further 5-10 minutes of cooking. Shake pan gently to make sure the cake is free from pan. Turn cake onto wire rack so that the rack does not mark the top of the cake, invert cake onto wire rack to finish cooling.
